WSKF History
The International Non-Olympic Committee (INOC) has taken new sport named as "Karate" and its International governing body i.e. World Sports Karate-Do Federation (WSKF), has been founded 29th April-2005 and merged with INOC on dated. 25th November-2007 and has been registered under Indian law established and managed by International Non-Olympic Committee-INOC with full of its legal control and administration on WSKF and Prof.Dr. Mohammed Seraj ANSARI has taken charge as first President of WSKF & Dr.Thiyagu Nagaraj WSKF-General Secretary.
The Karate-Do is a martial arts game developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom by Japanese Masters. Many years & many masters are trying to include karate game into International Olympic Committee-IOC but it gets unsuccessful. In 2005, WSKF project was proposed (by Late Shihan T.Paandiraj) to International Non-Olympic Committee-INOC. By 2007 the INOC legally announced "Karate" as Non-Olympic game. WSKF main aims to popularize the Non-Olympic Sports and INOC-Charter as well as generating funds for all Non-Olympic Sports, which are the members of International Non-Olympic Committee-INOC and National Non-Olympic Committee-NNOCs further funds for its International Sports Federations and National Sports Federations, which shall manage through INOC and NNOCs of their respective country.
The WSKF was a non-governmental international organization (NGO) whose aim was to promote the Non-Olympic games. The decision was taken on 25th Session of the International Non-Olympic Committee-INOC and in accord with the "WSKF Competition Rules". The WSKF was a common platform for karate styles, karate organization etc. which are practiced worldwide.
